The Honourable, Ms Julie Bishop

Born in South Australia in 1956, Ms Bishop went on to study Law at the University of Adelaide, before working as a corporate lawyer in Western Australia.
In 1998, Julie entered the Federal Government when she was elected into the seat of Curtin. In the Howard Government, she held the roles of Minister for Ageing, Minister for Education and Science and the Minister for Women.

In 2007, Ms Bishop became the first woman to become elected as the Deputy leader of the Liberal Party, a role she held until 2013 when she was appointed as the Minister for Foreign Affairs in the Abbott Government - again she was the first woman to hold that role.

During her time in Parliament, Julie has become and remained an amazing role model for women and girls regardless of their own interests in politics. While we will miss her in her role in Federal Politics, we look forward to finding out what's in store next for this inspiring woman.
